Numbering tracked changes

Hi

Someone is sending me a word doc with tracked changes and his are numbered in the balloons showing the comments on the right hand side e.g. 'Comment: CC3', but when I open it there is no number and there isn't an option under the Track tab to switch this on in the markup options. This is a document being shared by a lot of people so now in emails the others are referring to comments for example, 'we won't accept comment CC03' etc etc and I can't tell which comments they mean because for me I just see my name next to each comment. I've opened this on a Mac and PC and none have the option to see what they are seeing. Any ideas how I can resolve?

Thanks!

Charlotte

In Word 2013 and 2016, comment numbers are only displayed when you print or preview a document.

As a workaround (although a clumsy one), you can add paragraph numbering to the Comment Text paragraph style.

    Hi Charlotte,

On the Review tab, select "All Markup" in the Display for Review drop down ("Simple Markup" is selected by default).

In addition, please confirm version of Word application.

    Thanks,

    Neha
