OneDrive Issue

We are trying to replace file sharing applications, such as drop box, with one drive. At the organizational level we have changed the link permissions to "Direct: Specific People" with the intention of only allowing authorized users to access the shared content. The issue we are having is the email sent with the access code to verify the user is ALWAYS sent to the spam folder. I am not sure what can be done to prevent this from always going to the spam/junk folder, but it is difficult to use because of this.

Thanks

Hello derrickgingras,

From your description, my understanding is the email sent with the access code is always sent to the Junk folder in Outlook. If I misunderstand anything, please feel free to correct me. As far as I know, there are two different ways to set it.

For end user: End user can mange their Junk Email filter in Outlook client. If emails are sent from the same sender, they can add the safe sender list to always trust the sender or Turn off Automatic Filtering via Junk > Junk Email options. For your reference: Overview of the Junk Email Filter.

For administrator: Admin can set a transport rule to by pass spam filter or set the SCL value to lower than 5. To do this, sign in to Exchange admin center > mail flow > rules. Click add button and select Bypass spam filtering. For more details about transport rule, you can refer to this article.

I hope this can help. Please let me know if you need any further assistance. I am glad to help you further.

Best Regards,

Sylvie

I appreciate you testing, but the email that is flagged as junk does not come from our domain. It is sent from

    ******@sharepointonline.com

    Thank you for the response.

However, this is not an acceptable answer.

Most of the time, we are sharing a folder or files with a customer and it is unprofessional to have to explain that the initial email with the link to the shared information is not sent to spam. However, the email containing the access code to the data will likely go to spam because Microsoft can't figure out how to use an email address that is less likely to be filtered out.

I guess we will have to continue using other third party products for sharing information since this problem is a Microsoft issue.
