SharePoint Online: Cannot add new folder to a document library

Question

Greetings,

I have a problem where I am trying to add a new folder to the document library. However I won't let me. 

The document library has around 26k items

Would it have something to do with it? 

By the way I am the site collection administrator, so i don't think it has to do with permissions. I had a similar problem when managing permissions and wouldn't let me because I had way too much items in the library already.

Any help is appreciated!

To better understand your situation and provide help for you, please help confirm some information:

1. Does the issue happen with other document library?
2. The issue happens in the folder "Financial Document Library", if you create a test folder in "FinancialSystem", will the error message appear?

1. No, it doesn't happen on another library
2. The thing is that Financial Document Library is a Document Library. Financial System is the parent SharePoint site since I am in a subsite

I am creating a document library in a subsite which contains 20000+ items.

Sorry for the delay.

I have added 20000+ items in a document library in a subsite and when I create a new folder, I cannot get the same error message.
