Hi, I've been using MS Project Professional 2016 for some time and my computer broke, so now that I have a new one I went to activate it and I got this message:
Your copy of ms project cannot be activated because the specific product key has already been activated the maximum number of times permitted for your software license as specified... etc
Do I really need to purchase the software again?

You do not need to purchase the software again. You need to deactivate the product on your first computer. To do so you need to login into your Microsoft Account.
