Whenever I open a file from my one drive it prompts me with this. Otherwise it won't save.

This is happening in all local versions of office apps (word, excel, powerpoint, one note)

    Hi Timothy,

    Thanks for your reply.

You may sign in OneDrive and Office applications using two different accounts.

Please open one Office application such as Word to add an OneDrive place.

    1. Check the account which you used to sign in OneDrive application.

Click OneDrive icon> More> Account settings> Account tab.

    1. Check the account which you used to sign in Office application.

Open an Office application> File tab> Account> User Information.

    1. Add an OneDrive place to Office applications.

For example, in Word application> File tab> Account in the left pane> Connected Services> Add a service> Storage> OneDrive.

After you add the OneDrive place to your Office applications, please try to open the files in local OneDrive sync folder to see the result.

    Best Regards,

    Gloria

    Hi Timothy,

    Thanks for your feedback.

For the "open a document in my native apps", do you open a document on your local drive and it asks your to sign in?

If so, please try to clear your Office related credentials and re-sign in Office to see the result:

Quit all Office applications> Search menu> Search for "Credential Manager"> Windows Credentials> Delete Office related credentials> Open an Office application> Sign in.

If not, I need to confirm where you open the document, in OneDrive Online in browser, in OneDrive local sync folder or on local drive.

    Best Regards,

    Gloria

    Hi Timothy,

In following situations, if you open file in OneDrive with Office applications, Office applications will ask you to sign in:

    1. You sign in OneDrive Online use account A.
    2. You sign in Office applications with account B.
    3. You open a file in OneDrive Online and it is opened in Office Online> Click Edit in Word/Excel/,,,

Office applications will pop up a window and ask you to sign in.

If it is not your scenario, please share your steps with me.

To better understand your situation and provide further help for you, please help confirm some information:

    1. What are your Office product name and version?

You can capture a screenshot refer to this article: What version of Office am I using?
