OneNote Folder Template

Hi,

I want to be able to create a new folder multiple times and have each folder have the same sections and pages.  I have seen how to create a page template and a Notebook template but not one for a folder.  Is this an option.  It would be a huge time saver if I could do this.  Thanks.

Create a notebook with that sub-structure (the section group) and store it as a notebook template (described in the link from Tim).

If you need the sub-structure (section group) open the template in the usual way to a new temporary local notebook.

Then move (copy is unavailable) the sub-structure by right click to the target notebook. You may have to rename it before the move. Now close the temporary notebook (and delete it in Explorer).

I think I still don't fully understand what I am supposed to do.  I created the notebook template.  How do I open that same structure in another notebook that I have already created?  I don't understand the part about moving the structure.

Sorry if this was confusing.  I want to have one notebook that has a section group that I can have repeated.  I have a section group with pages for each section.  I want to be able to copy the structure of that section group and have it repeated within the same notebook.  So it would be a section group template that I can repeat within the same Notebook without having to create all the same sections each time.  Does that make sense?  Here is an example of what I am talking about.  I want to be able to duplicate this same group.  I can't paste a picture so this is the name of the section group I want and then the different sections listed underneath it.  This is what you would see in the left side pane.

Measure Template (Name of Section Group)

       PCMH (section)

       ACO (section)

       MIPS (section)

       CPC+ (section)

Your description is inconsistent. You say you want to have a "folder" which contains sections and pages. In OneNote this is called a notebook.

In the next sentence you say you know how to create a notebook template.

What are you talking about ? What do you mean with folder ?

    Hi Becca,

I'd like to explain that we may see a notebook saved as a folder in file explorer, each section is a .one file in that folder. However, when we want to create template, we just need to create template for the notebook not the folder.

In OneNote 2016, export the notebook as notebook package, and then unpackage it to create new notebooks. Below is a vidoe for your reference.
