"AutoFit to Window" means that the width of the table is set to 100%, which in turn means that the width will adjust if you adjust the width of the container where the table resides. This will be especially apparent if the table is inside a text box.

Autofit to Window automatically adjusts the table width without any intervention. Fixed column width turns of autofit and allows the user to manually adjust the table and/or column width.
