How to remove an authenticated external user from a shared folder?

Hello,

this seems fairly trivial but I'm having a very hard time getting around it.

I have created a shared folder for a project and invited authenticated external users, however now I need to remove a single user which is no longer a part of the team.

The instructions tell me to click on the user under "manage access" and then delete them, but no such option exists (screenshot below) can anyone lend a hand?

Hello Cliff, and thank you again for your continued help.

I was hoping to be able to remove a single user without having to remove all 3 (ie: just exclude one person and keep the other two with permissions)

But no worries, I was able to do it through the advanced online menu.

Thank you for all your attention!

Andre

    Hi And,

How do you share the folder with the external user? Do you share the folder with the group including the external user? Could you list the detailed steps about how you share the folder with the external user?

    Thanks,

    Cliff

    Hello Cliff,

    Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately my interface does not offer this possibility, I only get an "x" for the whole group; please see a screenshot below:

    Hi And,

If the shared folder is in the OneDrive for Business library and you share it with an external user in the modern OneDrive interface, the external user should access the shared folder via a shared link. To remove the user’s permission to access the shared folder, you can click on it>Details>the shared links pop up>click X to remove them and the external user will be unable to access the shared folder.

    Thanks,

    Cliff
