Text box disappearing

With the last update to Word, text boxes have been disappearing from our report template. The title page has an image set as background and a single text box with the title and date information. When someone who has the newest window update opens the report, they can't find the text box at all. When someone who hasn't installed the update goes in to the report, the text box is there but empty. When information was put back in by someone without the update, it seemed to stay. Help would be appreciated, as it is annoying for anyone with the update already installed.

I would suggest that it is almost certainly completely unnecessary to be using a text box.

If you send me a copy of the template, referencing this thread in the covering email message, I will set it up for you without a text box.

    Hi Meredith,

    Thanks for your updates.

Sorry for mistakenly letting you upload the version information page in the Word 2016 application of Windows. As you have the original file, I suggest you create a new file with your Word 2016 for Mac application and copy the original file content to it. Then open the file with your Word 2016 for Mac application to see and let us know the result.

Meanwhile, please go to Word>About Word to get the version information page of your Word 2016 for Mac application and upload a full screenshot of it and check if the issue happens in the specific file.

Note: Remove any private information before uploading the screenshot.

    Thanks,

    Cliff

    Hello Cliff,

I cannot seem to find the account option. This is what I see when I click "File":

The issue started since the most recent update, so we are assuming it is related. Unfortunately, the problems are getting worse. One file disappeared, leaving only a single blank page with our background logo. All text was lost. This is a screenshot of that:

    Hi Meredith,

From your description, it seems that the issue only happens after you update the Word 2016 application. If yes, first as you have the original file, I suggest you create a new file with your Word 2016 application and copy the original file content to it. Then open the file with your Word 2016 application to see and let us know the result.

Meanwhile, I’d like you to upload a full screenshot of the Account page in the Word 2016 application you are using and check if the issue happens in the specific file. You can access the page via File>Account.

Note: Remove any private information before uploading the screenshot.

    Thanks,

    Cliff
