[Sharepoint] Restricting document editing

Greetings,

In Sharepoint, is it possible to have a set of documents that can only be checked in and out and not simply edited or 'downloaded'.  The idea is to restrict the documents to one person editing at a time in order to tightly control versioning and auditing of who touched what/when.

All replies, gratefully appreciated.

Rick

Hi Rick

If you want to restrict the documents to one person editing at a time, you could set a library’s Require Check Out to yes. You could refer to this: Set up a library to requirecheck-out of files. Be aware of that the setting is to control the whole library.

Regards,

Alex
