Publisher Export to HTML formatting problems

Hi,

Whenever I export a publisher file to html, it shifts all pictures and everything but the links over to the right. It looks perfectly straight on my publisher file, but for some reason messes up when exporting. I tried exporting to PDF, it looks perfect. Exported to mhtml, it looks perfect. Had someone else export it to html from their computer, and it looked the way it is supposed to. It only messes up the formatting when exporting from my computer. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

When you say that your DPI is set at 100%, does that mean you have it set at 96 DPI or is it 120 DPI or higher?

If you click on both the two screen grabs you posted and open them in other tabs, and then toggle back and forth between them you will see the second picture is wider overall. This can be caused by the screen display being set at a number higher than 96 DPI. Pictures are rendered larger, and text remains the same.

If you have your display set at 120, change it to 96 DPi, open and publish your web files at that resolution. You will probably find everything lines up ok.

    Hi,

thank you for the help, I resolved the issue. I had to manually go into the regedit settings and set the “win8dpi” value to 1. That fixed the problem. Thanks again.

As you can see, one picture the entire background objects are shifted over when I export. However, I know it is not the publisher file itself, because my colleagues can export it for me and it comes out as intended. My dpi settings are at the normal 100%.

Sometimes Publisher chokes when trying to convert a print formatted publication to a HTML or web formatted.  Sometimes there simply is no HTML equivalent.  Frequently if you tweak your page layout you can produce code that will render correctly on-line.

Can your provide a link to the site where you posted it?

Try to describe or illustrate what shift is happening in more detail or perhaps with a screen grab?

What screen DPI is your display setting? You should be able to find this under the Control Panel and advanced display settings.
