Hello,

I would like to show a link to download all documents that the current user has permissions to inside a document set as a zip in the document set properties page. What is the best way to do that?

    Hi Dheepa,

    Thanks for the feedback.

About the first issue you mentioned, If the file is view only, I don't think it will have a conflict with the downloading. Because even if the users edit the downloaded view-only file, the changes will not sync to the Document Set. The editing to the downloaded files only happens locally.

And about the second one, the feature is not available in SharePoint Online. You are welcome to share your idea in SharePoint UserVoice. Thanks for your understanding.

    Regards,

    Alex

I created a calculated column to include the docwnload link as '/_layouts/DocSetExport.aspx?List={GUID}&ID={ID}', but I have 2 issues with this:

    1. some documents in the document set has view only permissions and they are still downloading
    2. the downloaded file has other files as below. Only the highlighted files are the required ones

Is there a way to have it not return the _rels, Resources and [Content_Types].xml files?

    Hi Dheepa,

To show a link in the Document Set properties page, you could add the column to the Document Set and it will show in the properties page. But the download link is not available in a Document Set. If you want this feature to get the link, you could share your idea in SharePoint UserVoice or vote for similar ones. Here is a related one: Add "Download a Copy" to "Get a link" options.

Anyway, here are the steps to add a column to a Document Set properties page.

    1. Go to the top-level site in the site collection for which your Document Sets is.
    2. On the Site Actions menu, click Site Settings.
    3. Under Web Designer Galleries, click Site content types.

    1. Find the Document Set you want to edit in the list, and then click it.
    2. click Add from new site column.

    1. You could choose Hyperlink and set it up.

    1. Then go to the Properties page in the Document Set, you could edit the link and it will show at the properties page.

    Highly appreciate your understanding.

    Regards,

    Alex
