Multiple ranges in data validation list

Is it possible to combine multiple ranges in a data validation list? I would like to avoid having to make an additional list in excel - but it doesn't seem to be possible to combine ranges directly within the data validation. I don't want to make the list dynamic - I need it to be a single dropdown list.
