Objects keeps disappearing when saving custom cover pages, what am I doing wrong?

As the title suggests I am trying to save custom cover pages. They consist of 3 objects, one background image and two text boxes. For some reason, no matter if i select them one by one or group them, one of the three objects keeps disappearing when i save the cover page. I tried googling around and I cannot seem to find anyone with the same problem.

I'll illustrate. This is how it is supposed to look with the 3 objects.

And this is what looks like when I try to open them. The two are from different kind of groupings, the white version containts the two text boxes, and the left version is missing the main text box.

All and any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks for your help, apparently it was the word template I was working with that somehow didn't let me save all elements. Cheers!

    Hi Hugo,

Thanks for posting in our forum.

We tested in our end and the custom cover page shows well. The following are our steps:

    1. Create a new document>Insert >Pictures>choose a picture>format the picture. (resize this picture to cover the whole page. Wrapping style: Behind text. Fix position on page.)
    2. Insert>Text Box>Draw Horizontal Text Box>format it and type something in it.
    3. Repeat Step 3 to insert another text box.
    4. Press and hold Ctrl key + click the picture and two text boxes.
    5. Insert>Cover Page>Save Selection to Cover Page Gallery…

Since we are not be able to repro it, could you please share the following information for us to investigate the issue you encounter?

    1. Your OS version and a screenshot of your Office Production Info. (Launch Word>File>Account, capture a screenshot of all the info under Product Information)
    2. If the above steps are different form you, please share your detailed repro steps.
    3. Please create a new custom cover page to see the outcome.
    4. Please open Word in safe mode to save the custom cover page. This helps us to check whether it is related to some add-ins.
    5. Did Word works properly previously? If so, did you make any changes like updating or installing some software or add-ins?

    Regards,

    Zixuan
