We purchased Office 2016 for a computer.  Computer died in June.  We purchased new computer in Aug.  It comes loaded with trial version of Office - When I enter the volume license product key to activate Office product we purchased in 7/2016 - I get a "repair" error system 0x80040154.   I click the "repair" button but nothing has solved the issue.

Help!  Thanks!

Oh yes that's unfortunate, try different browsers to download

Without a good install this will be a huge problem

I thought I solved the problem - I found where I could go in and delete the old device.  That did not solve the issue.

When you say "uninstall" - Uninstall office altogether?

After logging into our VLSC account - I worry about uninstalling altogether because I am also getting error message on  the download tab....so I cannot download the software.

    thanks

Hi MJ, first remove that Pre-installed version completely, then install your own version . . .

Uninstall Office form Control Panel - Programs and Features

Then, use this tool from Microsoft to remove all remnants of the previous Office Installation:

    https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Uninst...

Go to http://www.office.com and if you're not already signed in, select Sign in

Finally on the Office home page, select Install Office - Install
