When I opened and closed a file in SharePoint, it automatically showed me as the last person who edited the file even though I did not change anything

    Hi Stowe,

I can’t reproduce the issue in SharePoint Online in our environment.

What are you using, SharePoint Online or SharePoint Server 2013/2016? If you are using SharePoint Server 2013/2016, I suggest you post a new thread on our TechNet forum for expert help.

If you are using SharePoint Online, I’d like you to confirm whether the issue happens in a specific list, a specific library or a specific site. If you go to the classic SharePoint interface, click on the affected file>File>Version History, are there some history records showing that the file is edited by you?

    Thanks,

    Cliff
