Sharepoint CSV file sharing

I shared out a CSV file on Sharepoint and sent a link to end user. End user reports that CVS is opening in the Excel online and that messes up formatting.

How can I stop shared CVS files to be opened in Excel Online and prompt for download instead?

Best.

" you may send them emails with the files directly as a workaround."

...which defeats the purpose of paying for cloud storage. If you copy the raw link to the file and email it, it will prompt for a download.

    Hi Mr.Pavel,

There is no out-of-the-box option to get the download link. I suggest you submit your feedback on our SharePoint UserVoice as it is the direct way for product developers to know users’ requirements. Given the situation, you may send them emails with the files directly as a workaround.

    Thanks,

    Cliff
