Make embedded PowerPoint visible

When viewing a PowerPoint in the browser mode, I to go to File > Share > Embed.  I am able to copy this embed code to embed the PowerPoint, but then it is not viewable by anyone else.  Even though I can create guest links through OneDrive to make the file accessible to others, these links are created separately and do not make the embedded version viewable.  How do I fix this?

Hi Fickes,

Thanks for your confirmation.

As you embed the file on a third-party learning management system, I suggest you turn to their support for expert help.

As a suggestion, you can share the file to get an anonymous link and then replace the “xx” part with the link in the code like the following to make the embed file visible to anyone who have permissions to access the site page in SharePoint Online if you embed the file in a site page in SharePoint Online.

<iframe src=' xx&action=embedview& …

Thanks,

Cliff

    Hi Fickes,

    Thanks for your updates.

Where do you embed the PowerPoint file? Do you embed it on a site page in SharePoint Online?

Meanwhile, could you confirm where you get the embedded code, in the personal OneDrive online place (www.onedrive.com) or in the OneDrive for Business library? If seems that you get it in the personal OneDrive online place (www.onedrive.com).

    Thanks,

    Cliff

    Hello,

Any webpage I embed this on does not work.  If I am logged in with my Office365 account, it works just fine.  But if I log out, I see a "SharePoint Online" logo with a Sign In button.  I can sign in and view this, but I want others to be able to view this.

    To reproduce the issue:

    1. Go to the online version of PowerPoint.
    2. Click File > Share > Embed
    3. Copy the embed code into any website.  View that it works.
    4. Log out of Office 365.
    5. Then open the website with the embedded presentation, to see that this log in is required in order to view this.

I have included screenshots below of what I see when logged in (the working presentation), when not logged in (the log in button), and the screen where the embed code was copied, which I got to by what I described in Step 2 above.

    Hi Fickes,

To clarify the issue in your environment, could you provide and confirm the following?

    1. Where do you embed the PowerPoint file?
    2. Could you list the detailed reproducing steps of the issue you are experiencing and upload some related screenshots showing the symptom of it?

Note: Please remove any private messages before uploading the screenshots.

    Thanks,

    Cliff
