OneNote - can't stop sharing

Hello,

New to Office365, home. There are two of us in our household and we share the account.

I installed the iOS app on my iPad (V16.14). All of my notebooks are shared automatically with my partner. I did not ask to share. And when I try to unshare, I'm unable to do so. It says "Permissions for this file can't be changed now".

Can someone help?

Thanks.

    So I've found the problem.

The files are sharing deep within a saved folder.

I moved everything to a new private folder. But when I add a new file to one note, it saves back into that folder (which was never selected in the first place).

How do I select a default folder for one note other than a shared folder?

Thank you for your assistance, but that is the procedure we followed when we set this up and it does not help the current situation. She can see my one note (nothing else) and I cannot see hers (which is fine).

We do share some documents via onedirve, but my onenote is not shared on onedrive.

When I look at onenote in office online, it does not look like I am sharing, so I cannot unshare. When I click to manage and delete my notebooks, it takes me to onedrive, yet I don't have any onenote files there.

I removed the app from the ipad, but don't seem to delete it from the online version.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

As far as I understand, you might be using the same account associated to the O365 subscription and this could be the reason for even though you didn't ask to share your content, she still have access, since it is the same account. If you want to have your own private document and decide when and with who share them, you need to following the procedure described in the following article instead, I hope it helps you out:

Thank you, but I had already tried that, and it does not work as I said before.

The really weird thing is I never shared my notebooks to begin with and yet she has access to them.
