Sorry about that.
It seems I misunderstood your needs thus the reference to Debra's site.

This is my goal:
When I click on a drop down list, it will give me options that I have listed on a separate "Data Validation" sheet. Once I select an option, it shows something different than listed. So, for example, when shown a list containing 'A', 'B', or 'C', if I select 'A', the selection turns into 'Apple'. If this description is too confusing, I apologize. I found a link that solves my problem partially here.
In my workbook, I have a cell that can contain one of three options, which are decided based on another initial drop down list. These three options determine a set of codes that you may choose from in the lists below. They are as follows:
What I need is for these descriptions to appear in the drop down list as such (without changing the final, original code once selected):
If anyone can help, I'd highly appreciate it. Thank you

That link was unsafe. I used google to find the site elsewhere: https://www.contextures.com/xlDataVal02.html
I reviewed what was written and, unless I overlooked it, none of this pertains to my issue. I already have the drop down lists dependent of another. Did you review the site I linked too?
