MS Sharepoint Export to Excel

I am trying to export a SharePoint Library to Excel as I have done many times. The last time I did the export a .iqy file was downloaded and now a .dll file is being exported. I get an error saying that I do not have a program installed to be able to open the file. Is there a setting or something that has changed? The library is populated by entries from an MS InfoPath form published to the library.

Hi Jesse,

To check if there’s any issue, I exported a list from SharePoint to Excel using the steps mentioned in this article and the list was exported successfully.

When the list was exported using Export to Excel icon on the ribbon in SharePoint list, it downloaded query.jqy file, after I double click the file to open, I received a Security Notice, once clicked Enabled the file was opened in Excel without any error.

Since you are getting the issue, we would like to confirm the following information:

  1. Are you using SharePoint online or SharePoint on-prem?
  2. You mentioned, when you exported the list, it downloaded a .dll file. Could you please test with a list created in SharePoint itself not a list created from InfoPath form? To create a list in SharePoint online, please check if this article for help.
  3. Please provide the screenshot of Office Product Information. To get this screenshot, open any Office app such as Excel or Word on your system, click File>Account, capture the screenshot of all the information mentioned under Product Information. (Note: please remove any sensitive information from the screenshot such as email address or full name etc.).

Thanks,

Neha
