Copy/Paste from PivotTable error

Split from this thread about something similar.

I have encountered this issue too as well as one that is potentially related.

I get the Alert when I try to copy and paste data from a Pivot Table from one workbook to another workbook (separate files).

Copying and pasting within the same workbook - okay.

Copying and pasting from the Pivottable to another location/tab on the same workbook - okay.

Copying and pasting from another workbook but not from a Pivot Table - okay.

Hi Rena,

Thank you for the response.

I am unable to send you the workbook as it is company confidential. However, I managed to solve the issue by reverting back to the original file and re-creating the pivot table.

    Hi Fragglelator,

    Thanks for posting here.

As you mentioned the issue only happens when you copy and paste data from a Pivot Table from one workbook to another one, I just did a test by my side but I fail to reproduce the alert. I can copy and paste the Pivot Table to another workbook without any issues.

So here I would like to confirm more information:

    1.       Does the issue happen to all workbooks having the Pivot Table or only a specific one? If you create a new workbook and insert a Pivot Table, does the issue happen?

    2.       The Office version. You can check it via Excel > About Excel.

    3.       When did the issue first happen? Did it first happen after you update the Office?

    4.       If you click move or copy button, can you move or copy the sheet to another workbook? Or do you also meet the issue that Paul has (the issue is that clicking move or copy button has no response)?

    5.       Please also provide us the problematic workbook so we can test it by our side. I have sent you a private message to collect it. Please access it via this link.

In the meantime, please also try the Mac safe boot to see the result: To check if the issue is related to third-party, please try rebooting your system in safe boot to see the result: restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key. The white Apple logo appears on your display. Release the shift key when you see the logo window. If your startup disk encrypted with FileVault, you might be asked to log in twice: once to unlock the startup disk, and again to log in to the Finder.

    Thanks,

    Rena
