Cannot remove emails from Quarantine.

I can't seem to remove emails from my quarantine in Security and Compliance. When I try it comes up with:

Message 'ID=812e82cd-60d7-42d8-55a6-08d65393057e' couldn't be deleted. 401: The request parameters are invalid.

And under the "show details" part it says:

Request: /api/QuarantineMessage/DeleteMessage Status code: 500 Exception: Microsoft.Exchange.PswsClient.PswsException Diagnostic information: {Version:16.00.2710.006,Environment:NEUPROD,DeploymentId:da26371ac71c4d7c8d2b3af3adc372ee,InstanceId:WebRole_IN_2,SID:c1e2f42d-c326-4401-b2f8-59fc41d36740,CID:9f8bc04d-3067-41f4-a68d-d74ede9e01fe} Time: 2018-11-26T15:43:47.5335209Z

I think it's a permissions issue, but none of my permissions have changed, and no matter what I try I can't sort this issue. Has anybody else had this problem, and how did you solve it?

Hello Mike,

Thanks for your post in the forum. Does this issue happen when you are removing a message from the quarantine? Please let me know during which step you saw the error message. You can capture some screenshots for better understanding. Meanwhile, please follow the steps below to narrow down the issue:

  1. Please try other browsers to see if the same issue happens.
  2. If it doesn’t work, please let other Office 365 admins who have the same permission try to do it. And let me know if there is any difference.
  3. Please check if the error happens to all the messages in the quarantine.

If only you have the error message, please compare the permission between you and the unaffected admins. Make sure that you have the correct permissions. If the issue persists for all the Office 365 admins and all the messages, please capture a screenshot of the entire error message for further check.

Regards,

Rick
