SSRS 2019 Edition Upgrade Using SQL 2012 SP 4 Product Key

I am trying to upgrade our report server to SSRS 2019. I have installed it in a Windows Server 2016 Standard environment on a separate server than our SQL database is installed. Our SQL server version is 2012 SP 4 which meets the requirements for SSRS 2019. However, when I enter the product code for SQL 2012 SP 4 Standard to upgrade to the licensed edition of SSRS 2019, it does not recognize the license key as valid. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi @Walter Ariss ,
As you said, you now have a license for SQL 2012 SP4, which means you will be able to install the same version of SSRS at the same time. It is indeed possible to upgrade SSRS2019 on SQL 2012 SP4, but the premise is that you need to purchase an additional license for the SQL 2019 version.
    Best Regards,
    Joy

SQL Server license are always bound to the version for, so you can not install a higher version of SQL Server/SSRS then 2012
You have to purchase a license for version 2019.
