OneNote Timestamp Error

Hello,

Ive been using the right click menu in OneNote entries to insert a Time + Date stamp. Now I've just noticed this does not always produce the correct time and date.

The Insert Menu -> Date and Time shortcut seems ok (but no author details).

As does the Shift + Command + D (osx) method seems ok.

Does Microsoft know about this issue?

I've been paying attention now, and sometimes the date is out by a few days. I've probably got lots of entries with the wrong timestamp!!!

Thank you for standing by. We appreciate your patience.

Since you mentioned that the issue is also happening when using a Windows PC, I'd suggest updating the OneNote app to the latest version. Check this link, click Other download options and choose Free Download. If the issue still persists, run the Office Repair tool and see if this will help resolve the issue.

If you have additional questions, or if the issue persists after the troubleshooting steps above, please let me know by replying to this thread. This way, I'll get notified and respond back to you as soon as I can.

    Hi Rastus81,

Your OneNote settings could be misconfigured that's why you are having issues with the time and date. I'd like to investigate this issue. With that, I need to know some information. Please answer the following:

    • Are you referring to the OneNote app or the OneNote Online?
    • If you're using the app, is this the OneNote 2016 or OneNote for Windows 10?
    • Which build and version of Office you're using?
    • Have you made any recent changes to your OneNote settings? How about installing an update?
    • Did you encounter any error messages when creating OneNote entries?
    • When was the last time you were able to use OneNote without any issues?

Meanwhile, I recommend that you send us a screenshot of your OneNote entries which shows incorrect date and time using the Steps Recorder. You may send it via private message. Just follow these steps: Go to your Profile name > My Profile > View private messages

Please reply to this thread so we can work on this issue.
