    Hi Sajjad,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

From my understanding, the linked.xlsx has been deleted from the synced folder and you encountered the same error message when you tried to open any workbook in the synced folder.

If so, we might need more information to check whether it is due to Excel or OneDrive sync client:

    1. Your OS version, Office version(Version ****(Build ****.****)) and product name. (Open Excel>File>Account>Production Information)
    2. Which OneDrive client are you using? If you are using the next generation client, please right-click the OneDrive icon in system tray, then click Settings > Aboutto see your OneDrive version.
    3. Please open your OneDrive for Business in browser first, right-click the workbook> Open in Excel to see whether it can be opened normally.
    4. Navigate toOffice 2016 Upload Center, click Settings > Delete cached files to see the outcome.
    5. Please copy a workbook to another location (e.g. the desktop), then open that workbook to see the outcome.

    Regards,

    Zixuan

    Hello Zixuan,

    1)  Its Onedrive for business.

    2)  Yes, I sync the files to my computer via OneDrive sync client and I double click the workbook in the synced folder to open it directly

    3)  I have deleted the work book filename.xlsx (linked.xlsx) and when ever I try to open any other workbook the above message is popped.

    1. This is just happening for only excel files.

    Thanx

    Sajjad

    Hi Sajjad,

Thanks a lot for your updating.

To investigate this behavior, could you please provide the following information:

    1. Regarding to OneDrive, do you refer to your personal OneDrive or your OneDrive for Business?

2.Please let us know the detailed step how you open that workbook. (e.g. You sync the files to your computer via OneDrive sync client and you double click the workbook in the synced folder to open it directly.)

3.Please open your OneDrive in browser, right-click that workbook, select Open In Excel to see the outcome.

4.Does this behavior occur with other files (e.g. Word documents) saved in OneDrive?

    Regards,

    Zixuan

    Hello Zixuan,

Yes it is in onedrive location, but its popping every time I try to open any spread sheet. I am the global admin so I don't think there should be any permission issues.

    Thanxs

    Sajjad

    Hi Sajjad,

According to this error message, it seems like that it pops up when you try to open a specific workbook. If so, could you please let us know the location of that file first? (e.g. In SharePoint site) Additionally, please confirm whether you have permission to access that location as well.

    Regards,

    Zixuan
