HELP! Password protected worksheet

I have a password protected Excel workbook that I have worked on many times in the past. I am certain of the password (I literally even have it written down). I used the file just fine yesterday but yesterday my computer also did an office update (I have office 365 on my desktop through my school). Today, when I tried opening the file (or any other file with a password on it) in Excel, I get the error message "The password you supplied is not correct. Verify that the CAPS LOCK key is off and be sure to use the correct capitalization."

I'm not an idiot. I know how to type my password and I've tried over and over and I just keep getting this message. Never had any issues before with this. I even reinstalled the entire Office suite but it didn't help. I tried recovering prior versions of the file and that didn't either help (I have a copy of the file on sharepoint which is what I had been working off of yesterday but also have an offline old copy),

Please help ASAP! I'm desperate because there's no way for me to recreate this workbook.

    Hello SMB1989,

I'd suggest reverting back to the previous version of Office 365. You may follow this support link on how to revert to an earlier version of Office. After performing this troubleshooting step, check if you can already access your file.

If the issue still occur after uninstalling the update, perform a system restore on your computer. See this article and follow the steps provided under Restore from a system restore point.

Let me know the result of the troubleshooting.
