Cannot Print PowerPoint Files using Office 365 for Mac

Since the most recent update, I am no longer able to print my powerpoint files using my MacBook. The printer keeps timing out. It seems when printing the file size is increased exponentially. i.e. a 3MB document becomes 30MB hence the printer cannot handle it. I have parallels installed on my machine and I can print the same document using windows with no issue.

    Hi AnotherIdea,

To better understand the situation, I'd like to firstly confirm the following things:

    1. What are current versions of your Office suite and Mac OS? Click PowerPoint/Apple icon on the top bar>About PowerPoint/About This Mac.
    2. Is the issue only occurs when you print ppt files? How about other Office documents?
    3. Could you let us know more details about "It seems when printing the file size is increased exponentially. i.e. a 3MB document becomes 30MB hence the printer cannot handle it"? Do you mean when print a 3MB file you can see in somewhere file size changed to 30MB? Is it possible to capture some screenshots for this behavior?

    Best regards,

    Tim

    Hi,

    I still have the issue.

    PP Version 16.13

    Mac Version 10.13.4

Example - If Have a PP doc which is 2.6 MB if I print to PDF it outputs a document 40MB in size. When I try to printer times out and has an error message relating to low memory. It seems when PP is printing it is increasing the file size exponentially.

I don't seem to have the issue with any other Office apps.

    Hi AnotherIdea,

I have sent you a private message to collect that 2.6 MB file, I want to test the same file from my side. Meanwhile, do you mean when you use PDF printer, the file size increasing, when using a real printer, you get the times out/low memory error message?

    Regards,

    Tim
