Server Resource Quota

Hello All,

Does anyone know exactly what the Server Resource Quota does in the SP site collection page? We have been having a lot of OneDrive sync issues, and the MSFT tech told me to increase the resource quota because it has to do with server allocation and latency. Previously we had set all of the quotas to 50, but I changed them to way higher numbers yesterday hoping it will make a difference in our OneDrive sync.

However, we we got off of the phone and I did a little of my own research it appears that Server Resource Quota isn't utilized anymore in anyway and is set to be phased out here soon.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

    Hi,

We’re sorry for the inconvenience caused at your end.

For your query, though I didn’t find any official article about Server Resource Quota, you can refer to this article (Understanding resource quotas).

    Third party link disclaimer:

Microsoft provides no assurances and/or warranties, implied or otherwise, and is not responsible for the download you receive from the third-party linked sites or any support related to the download or the downloaded technology. If you need support relating to the third-party technology, please contact the author directly.

As mentioned in the official article, in the Server Resource Quota box, accept the resource quota default. This setting no longer affects the resource amounts available for the site. As there are many possible causes for OneDrive performance issue, from the official article, I don’t think this setting can affect OneDrive performance.

But, out of curiosity we want to know whether the performance of OneDrive is improved after increasing the resource quota?

    Appreciate your understanding and patience.

    Regards,

    Chitrahaas
