Excel Online: Formating the X axis in a line graph

I am attempting to edit the x axis in a line graph to reflect only the data that I have selected. I am trying to enter dates excluding weekends as the x axis and then data as the Y axis. There use to be a way to "treat dates as text" and that option is gone. I found a task analysis for how to change it once and for the life of me I cannot find it again. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Samantha,

    Thank you for your feedback. Based on test, the dates I didn't chose doesn't appear on the graph. Perhaps you used a different process to create a link? Here is my steps:

    1. Select the range that I need include in the graph;
    2. Click the Insert tab > click the Line button > select a type of the link charts.

    If you use a different steps, please tell us so that I may test to find out how this happened on your side.

    Besides, you may also achieve your goal by a formula. You may capture a screenshot of your data (please removing your personal data to protect your privacy), and then let me check what formula can be applied for it.

    Best Regards,

    Nathan

    Hi Samantha,

    Based on my test on Excel Online, you may use the Hide Rows feature to excluding the data you selected on the graph by the following process:

    1. Select the whole rows that you want to exclude;
    2. Right-click on your selected rows > Hide Rows.

    If you want to unhide the rows, you may just select an area that contains the hidden rows then right-click and select Unhide Rows.

    Please let us know if you have any further concerns.

    Best Regards,

    Nathan

    Thank you for your reply!  I am actually not including the dates that I do not want on the graph but they populate on the graph any way.
