I have recently migrated the public folder from exchange 2013 to O365 with the help of migration wiz tool. After migration, i am facing 2 issues.

  1. User is unable to add the public folder in OWA its grayed out.
  2. There is one user who is the owner on the public folder unable to expand the public folder.

I have tried :-

Removing the permission and reassign it to a user with PowerShell.

Microsoft 365 and Office | Subscription, account, billing | For home | Windows

    Hi TulikaSh,

May I know whether you have follow the steps mentioned in the article to migrate Exchange 2013 Server public folders to Exchange Online? See Use batch migration to migrate Exchange Server public folders to Exchange Online

Are users able to access Public folder via using Outlook desktop client?

If so, in the Outlook client users in your organization can add public folders to their Favorites folders. Then, depending on your organization's policies, they can use Outlook on the web to add those same public folders to their Favorites.

To add a public folder in Outlook on the web, right-click Folders, and then choose Add public folder to Favorites. Locate the folder and click Add. See Add favorite public folders in Outlook on the web

Moreover, if you still having problem then please provide us with detailed screenshot about the steps which you have tried for further analysis

To post screenshot, please refer to steps below:

    • On the top ribbon, click on Insert Image, and then Choose File to browser the picture to upload.

    • Click Upload.

    Best regards,

    Shyamal

    Hello TulikaSh,

Thanks for your reply. Regarding your desceiption, we can setup public folder from Office 365 Admin Center. You can refer to this article https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/collaboration/public-folders/new-organizations?view=exchserver-2019

Also, there are many advantages to using public folders in Office 365 and Exchange Online, there are some things to consider before implementing them in your organization:

    1. Outlook Web App is supported, but with limitations. You can add and remove favorite public folders and perform item-level operations such as creating, editing, deleting posts, and replying to posts. However, you can't create or delete public folders from Outlook Web App.
    2. You must use Exchange Online supported Outlook client or later to access public folders in Office 365 and Exchange Online.

    For your reference: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/collaboration-exo/public-folders/public-folders

Hope above information will help you.

    Regards,

    Darpan
