Every time I go to download a document from my school's Blackboard, it will download completely but then I go to open it and it says 'Sorry we couldn't find you file. Was it moved, renamed or deleted?' and then I go to hit okay to close it but the same box pops up at least 4 more times before I can actually close it.

I have Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus  Version 1911

Maybe the document hasn't been downloaded properly. It could be opened from a temporary folder.

Does Blackboard allow you to explicitly download documents? The details may depend on your browser as well.

Thanks for the follow-up. From many internet locations, files open read-only in Word. The cause is a combination of browser settings and settings in Office.

Generally, downloading to the local drive and "unblocking" the file in file properties window should work.

If you start Word and then open the downloaded document via the Open dialog box, then does it open properly?

When the dialogue box came up that asked me if i wanted to 'open file with' or 'Save file', I hit save instead of open, and then I went to my downloads and there is was.

    Thanks for all the help!
