Existing Word document lost its template

I opened a document to do some edits and found that the graphic from the first page was missing as well as the headers/footers. I then checked other documents on my laptop that had the same template - all had vanished. I'm not sure but there could have been a software upgrade deployed but I'm not sure that would have an impact. Can you help me get my template back?

If you send me a copy of the document, referencing this thread in the covering email message, I will investigate the issue.

A change in - or deletion of - a template will not ordinarily affect any of the content in documents created from it. The only way that could happen is if, for some reason, the content was linked to the template by an INCLUDETEXT field, for example, but that's something the user would have to set up after the document has been created.

Conversely, if the template contained an INCLUDETEXT field that linked to another document or template, and that document or template was deleted, renamed, or moved to a different folder, the associated content might disappear from the document as a consequence of that.
