Microsoft account problem?

I was trying to create a account for MS office installation via company email but I'm greeted with "It looks like there's already an account with "company email". If it's you, go back and sign in. Otherwise, choose another username." message.

I go back and tried to login. And I got  "That Microsoft account doesn't exist. Enter a different account or get a new one." message.

So I tried using random email id e.g ******@mycompanydomain.com and I still getting the same result.

Is my company domain getting block? Anyone knows how to resolve this?

I need to use company's email because the license is bought by them, so the license is their property.

If it is a retail license for Home & Business, it doesnt matter. When you redeem the license key in a Microsoft account, you own it. They can ask you to give them the user/password to the account, but if you don't, their options for getting it are limited.

When you tried to log in with your address, were you offered an option for business or microsoft account?

You mean using his email address in the company domain? (It reads like maybe you meant he used your address.)

    >>

He was using his business email address.

When did he create the account?

I'm not sure about this. I'll ask him when I have the chance.

Use an Outlook.com account instead - once you claim the Home and Business license in your Microsoft account, you own it, not the company.

The forum software removed the address - was this in your company domain?

No, I was just giving an example. I tried using other id like 123456 at mycompanyname dot com. It doesn't work too.

My company is using G Suite if this info helps.

My colleague was able to create an account using my company domain email previously.

When did he create the account? It used to be possible to use business accounts as Microsoft accounts but it created a lot of issues and is no longer possible.

Use an Outlook.com account instead - once you claim the Home and Business license in your Microsoft account, you own it, not the company.

    Hi Diane,

I'm trying to install office home and business 2019, not 365.

My colleague was able to create an account using my company domain email previously.

    Hi 69389,

Are you trying to create a Microsoft account using and address hosted in Office 365? You cannot use business addresses to create Microsoft accounts - they are blocked.
