I have created a document property called customer.

I have inserted this document property text box into multiple places in my word document.

I do not see how I delete just one of these document property text boxes?

Thank you for the reply.

I tried those and none work, however I have now discover that at the bottom of the page I have a comment

"You can't make this change because the selection is locked."

So I guess I have a different problem. Not sure how I unlock this.

Sorry for my confusion.

With it selected, on the Developer Tab click Properties. If it says it cannot be deleted, uncheck that.

If you send me a copy of the document, referencing this thread in the covering email message, I will investigate the issue.

When you use the Insert > Quick Parts > Document Property command, the thing it inserts is a content control (not a text box). There are several ways to delete one:

    • If the control is in a paragraph by itself, select the paragraph by clicking next to it in the left margin, and press the Delete key.
    • Click on the title "tag" above the left corner of the control, and press the Delete key.

    • Right-click in the control and click "Remove Content Control". That will remove the box but leave the contents in place as plain text. You can leave that or delete it separately.

No strangely it does not. I can select it. If I drag it, it makes a copy of it, but I do not have an option to delete or even through the menu to "cut it".

Selecting it and pressing Delete doesn't do it?
