CANNOT OPEN THE SPECIFIED FILE

Anonymous

Using excel. Link PDF to cell. Works fine when I click the link to open. Days later I get this message:

"Cannot open the specified file"

I have not moved or edited anything to do with the file location or hyperlink. Of course Microsoft says it's not their problem.

I've updated everything. Adobe, Windows. Repaired Excel. Still getting error.

    Hello Mark,

The PDF file may have been moved, and that may be the reason why you're getting the Cannot open the specified file error message. Were you able to check if the file path of the PDF file that you are linking on Excel is correct? Here are the steps on how to do so:

    1. Highlight the cell that contains the hyperlink.
    2. Under the Insert tab, click on Linkand click onInsert linkto see the file path of the PDF file.
