Dear Microsoft community,

I am trying to create video from 3d map to visualize stacked bars of delivered units in our company in last several years.

When I try to create video I get this error:

An error occurred while creating the video.

I tried several things:

  • restarting excel
  • pick different quality
  • copying file to different location
  • trying different location to save file (local or network)
  • changing some parameters in layer tour length etc.

My version of Office is:

Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus

Version 1708 (Build 8431.2351 Click-to-Run)

Microsoft 365 and Office | Excel | For home | Windows

    Hi Eric,

    Thanks for your suggestion.

Error occurred in all workbooks and also in different subsidiary, in different country, where they use same version of Excel, so I assume problem is connected to this version in our company.

I found the solution in exporting video with my school Office account (which has up to date version of Excel) and it worked like charm.

Unfortunately I don't have admin rights so I can not change to Monthly channel. I will ask our IT department for manual update.

    Thank you.

    Best regards,

    Michal

    Hi Michal,

Please Switch from Semi-Annual Channel to Monthly Channel. The latest version is 1903(11425.20204).

If the issue still happen in latest version, Could you tell me if it occur in all the workbooks or the specific workbook?

If it only occur in the specific workbook, it more likely the root cause is the file itself.

Get and prep your data for 3D Maps and Export a 3D Maps tour as a video for your reference.

    Regards,

    Eric
