Drop down list items not working when using external monitor (Excel) (Mac)

Hi, I'm having an issue with drop down lists in Excel. When on my macbook, the drop down list works as expected, with no issues. However, when I connect to a monitor and try to click the drop down list when it is viewed on the monitor, the list either doesn't open or the options appear blank.

Does anyone have any solutions for this or experienced this before? Very weird bug.

    We can't offer assistance until we know what version of Excel you have.

    Please go to the Excel menu and choose About Excel to display a dialog that has that information. You should have version 16.28

    Hi eschu1,

    Does all the drop down lists in Excel not work in the external monitor? If you create a new drop-down list, will it work in the external monitor?

    Which version of Excel did you installed on your Macbook? It’s always recommended to keep your Office for Mac updated to the latest version.

    If issue persists after updating Office to the latest version, could you provide more information about this issue?

    1. The pictures of both screens.
    2. Will the issue persists if you connect to another external monitor.
