Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
Hi Sharmini16
My name is Andre Da Costa; an Independent Consultant, Windows Insider MVP and Windows & Devices for IT MVP. I'm here to help you with your problem.
- Download the latest AutoUpdate version 4.14 from the following link, install it then run it then check for the latest updates:
https://officecdn-microsoft-com.akamaized.net/p...
Install any available updates then restart your Mac to see if the apps then work.
- Do you have any third party Antivirus software installed? If so, disable temporarily to see if it launches.
If that does not work, try creating a new user account, sign into then check if the applications launch.
If it still does not work, I would try upgrading to the newer macOS Mojave release to see if that works.
- Launch the Finder
Click Applications
Right click each Office application then click Move to Trash
Restart your Mac
Download and install the older version Office for Mac 2016 from the following page then sign in:

Don’t worry, once you sign in with your registered email address used to purchase the subscription, it will be transformed to Office 365.
If you still encounter problems, make sure you are using the email address you used to purchase the suite or subscription.
