Microsoft Group - 'not ready for management'

Hi,

I want to set up a shared mailbox for my small business but several of the users have iphones and I understand that shared mailboxes cannot be accessed via the exchange app on iphones. My boss particularly needs to be able to access his email from his phone.

So, I set up a shared group instead. I tried to add the option that allows external customers to email the group but I get the following error message. Can you tell me how long it would take for this option to be available? I have checked and we have business premium, so I assume exchange online must be included?

I am not an IT specialist, so I really need advice! Thanks.

Can't save "Send copies of group conversations and events to group member's inboxes" and/or "Let people outside the organization email the group" settings. Either your assigned product license doesn't include Exchange Online or you have recently created this group and it's still not ready for management.

Hi Sally McEnallay (Greenkit),

Thanks for posting in our forum. According to your description, do you mean that the error prompts when you try to save the "Let people outside the organization email the group" setting in Office 365 admin center?

Office 365 Admin center > Groups > select the new created group> Edit >  enable "Let people outside the organization email the group" option > Save

If so, according to the error, please go to www.office.com > click the avatar on the upper right corner > My Account > Subscriptions > Check if you’ve assigned with the Exchange Online license. You can also provide us with the screenshot of the subscription page.

In addition, if it is a new created group, please wait for hours and try again to open your browser in incognito mode and check if the issue persists.

If the issue persists, you can also go to Exchange Admin center > recipients > groups > double click on the group > general > scroll down and tick the checkbox of ‘Let people outside the organization email the group’ > Save

Best Regards,

Huni
