Creating a drop down menu in Word document

Question

I have followed the steps to create drop down menu and its still not working.  

These are the steps I used, but when I create the list of choices it does not reflect in word document - it doesn't even have control for drop down menu?

I am using Microsoft Word 365

1.  On the Developer tab, in the Controls group, click the Combo Box Content Control   combo-box control or Drop-Down List Content Control  drop-down menu control .

2.  Select the content control, and then on the Developer tab, in the Controls group, click Properties.

3.  To create a list of choices, under Drop-Down List Properties, click Add.

4.  Type a choice in the Display Name box, such as Yes, No, or Maybe.

5.  Repeat this step until all of the choices are in the drop-down list.

6.  Fill in any other properties that you want.

Per your creating steps, they are totally correct. I can also create a Drop-Down-List at my end. However, you mentioned that after you add the properties Content Control properties, they won’t display in this Drop-Down-List. I test it at my end but didn’t encounter with this issue.

  

If you are having this situation, can you provide screenshot about your issue to help us understand? Meantime, we suggest you try these steps to narrow down this issue.

1. Run Word safe mode to avoid add-ins effects.
2. Create a new document and follow these steps again.
3. Update your Word. Go to File-> Account-> Update Options-> Update Now.
4. Try to Online Repair Office, it will fix some issue. (Type Apps&Features in search bar-> Office-> Modify-> Online Repair)

If the issue still persists after trying these, we want to collect more information about this issue:

1. Can you take a full screenshot about Word Product Information page? (Word-> File-> Account-> Product Information). We need to determine which version has this issue.

2. When did this issue happened? Have you changed something? Like update?
3. Does this issue happen to all documents or just one document?
4. Can you edit other Content Controls by clicking Properties?
