Error: already linked through another task chain

I'm getting this error even though the task is not linked any where else.  I've tried deleting the resources with no change.  When I put in a hard start date it then let me put in a task link.  Then found another instance of this!  Making the same changes as previous had no effect on the error.

Anyone have some ideas?

Thanks,

Tom

Tom QA,

This issue has been raised before and as I recall, it is related to a bug that was fixed with an update. I suggest you run Windows Update and see if that resolves your problem.

John
