csv file opening issues

I am having problems when opening .csv files and .txt files in Excel 2016. When opening either of these in Excel columns with i.e. coordinates or measurements are displayed in a weird format. This is how it looks:

I have tried so many things to get the files to display correctly, but nothing works. I have checked the "Language preferences" and the "Additional settings" in Windows and everything is looking as it should there. I have unticked the "use system separators" in the advanced tab in "options" in Excel. If I open the same file on another machine, it opens with the correct format, i.e. not as it looks above.

Anyone who can help me get it right?

Thank you for the update. We've tried replicating the steps you did on the Additional Settings under Language preferences using the file you've sent and we got the same result. This is the settings under Customize format:

We suggest that you click the Reset button so it would go back to its default settings then check if the format will change in your Excel file.

    Hi Jomel Ber

The format that you get when opening the file is the format that I want. When I open the file(s) on another computer, they appear as they do when you open the .csv file, but when opening on my computer they open looking as in my original post above. I believe that there's nothing wrong with the files themselves, it must be some setting or other in Excel. I have checked the "Language preferences">"Additional settings" and that looks as it should. The "use system separator" in the "Advanced tab" in Excel options is also un-ticked. The number format is also set to General on my side. Nothing helps. The numbers still have separations into groups of three. Treating the numbers as text instead doesn't do the trick either. Tried that.

We need to see examples of your CSV and the spreadsheet after you import the CSV.  In the spreadsheet in a separate column, show us the way you want the data to appear.

The only way a column can have multiple decimal places is if it is treated as text rather than a number.

Trouble shooting problems in files can be like a visit to the dentist, a long, slow painful process of us trying to “extract” the clues needed to recognize the problem in a back and forth flow of questions and answers so that we can come up with a / “the” solution.

Often it is faster and easier for everyone if we have a “sample file” get "hands on", to look at, and to “play with”.

This next link provides some tips on setting up a sample file and specific instructions for uploading and "sharing" it for us to access:

Upon checking the file that you've sent, this the format that appeared on our end:

The Number format is set to General:

May I know what is the fomat that you want to appear on this columns in Excel?

    We'll wait for your reply.

    Hi Monkan_119,

For us to get a better picture of this issue, kindly send us a sample file so we can check it here on our end. You may forward it through the private message we've sent. Please share it by creating a OneDrive link. Here's the link for the steps.

In the meantime, since the format works fine when opening the file on a different device, the problem might be on the app itself. Please check if there are any pending updates for your application.
