Excel "Not Responding" when Printing

We are using Excel 2019 on a Win 10 1903 x64 PC with 8GB memory and 16GB virtual RAM. When the user is printing from a 2MB or 3MB file, Excel will not respond for a short period of time. When checking for the taskmanager excel uses 77MB of memory. Is there something wrong with our setup? The printer is a dot matrix Epson LX-310 with a USB interface. We can't figure out what causes Excel to not respond when printing?

Hi SCPI! It's me again Stephen, Independent Advisor here in the Microsoft Answers Community.

Just like my first answer to you. You can try any of those three methods.

    Method 1:

Go to the Control Panel, and click on Devices and Printers. Now, set Microsoft XPS Document Writer as the default printer, by right clicking on it. Once done, try to open excel again and your problem may be resolved. Issues often occur if the latest Office and Windows Updates are not installed.

    Method 2:

I recommend you to try it in safe mode. Here is a link below to help you with safe mode.

    Method 3:

If safe mode did not solve your problem, Start repairing your office.

To repair Office, follow these steps for windows 10 in this link below.
