"An error has occurred" message.

When I bring a .docx file from a folder and make any changes to it, then attempt to save it back to the folder, I get "an error has occurred" message and I am not able to save the file back to replace the original version.

Any ideas?  I have tried renaming the file, setting up a new file and copy/pasting and trying to save... none of this works.

Very frustrating.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks.

    Hi Mary,

Thank you for your reply.  Unfortunately I have tried your suggestion and it still does not work.

What is interesting is that I can save it to another drive, but not the drive where the original was located.  I have checked the drive ... even reformatted it and reloaded the files... other types of files on the drive, like images, pdfs, etc all work fine.  It is just the Word files .docx .doc anything related to Word that does not save to the drive of origin.

Wonder if it could be something to do with the Security settings?

    Thank you,

    John

    Hi! Mr. JohnLovering

    My name is Mary

You have tried once you have made the corresponding changes to the document to rename it? You can do this in File> Save As> put another name to the document and then choose the destination folder of the document.

If the problem persists, I will be waiting here to continue helping as necessary. Regards!
