Sharepoint error on iOS Firefox

Sharepoint won’t load on iOS Firefox as it suggests my Firefox is out of date. However I’m using the most up to date Firefox system for iOS, so Sharepoint must be faulty.

Sharepoint says it wont run on Firefox versions older than 44, but the iOS version only goes up to 21. I assume the v44 is only relevant to desktop Firefox.

Anyone know a fix? Just using the Sharepoint app or another browser isn’t a great solution as we use Firefox to handoff browser tabs from our iPads to meeting room TVs. In my region Chrome etc don’t offer this functionality.

Edit: This error happens with both requesting the mobile and the desktop site.

Hi Itlocutus,

I understand you wish to use Firefox browser to access SharePoint site and while doing so you receive an error. I tested on my end and I get the same error as you.

Based on my search and test, it appears that Firefox is not a supported browser to access SharePoint online/server 2019 &2016.

SharePoint online/2019/2016 all supports the latest versions of Safari and Chrome.

For your reference: Mobile browser support (though this article does not apply to SharePoint online but the browser information mentioned is same).

If possible and if it fits your requirement, please consider using Safari browser.

Regards,

Neha
