Cannot 'unhide' rows

The 1st six rows of my spreadsheet are hiden. They are not 'zero height'.

I cannot unhide them.

I am not happy with having to copy everything in the spreadsheet over to another, screwing up my formulas, VBA code, and conditional formatting.

It is pathetic of Microsoft to allow this problem to persist 5-6 years from when I first came across it and have seen multiple other users complain of it.

You can press CTRL-A to select the whole sheet, right-click and choose Unhide.

If you have other hidden rows then click on the Name Box (on top-left of the screen where you see the cell address), type A1:A6 (since you have 6 hidden rows), press enter then go to Format (on the Home tab)->Hide & Unhide->Unhide Rows.

That did nothing. I tried that earlier.

In the end, I renamed the .xls file to a .zip file, unpacked it, and edited something in the .txt file (don't remember what exactly or where). Then ziped it back up and renamed it back into an .xls file.

That appears to have worked, so far, provided I didn't break something else without realising it yet.
