Excel Version 1902

Most, but not all days when I start up my computer, Excel starts up as well. I use it most, but not all days so it may, only maybe that this happens when i use it. This used to be mildly annoying but tolerable. Now it is becoming very annoying.

Is there any way I can stop this happening?

Any help would be welcome, even if I'm in this for the long haul...

Thx

Nigel

That setting was turned on and is now turned off. I will keep an eye on this over the next few days before responding again.

    Thx

    Hi Rockface

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

Go to Accounts - Sign-In Options

If the option below is turned on, turn that off . . .

Hi and thank you so much for your assistance.

I looked into task manager and Excel was not mentioned in the startup.

I looked into the startup folder and Excel was not mentioned there.

I have downloaded, extracted and started autoruns but I am not sure what I should look for here. Can you please explain this in more detail?

    Hi Rockface

I am Vijay, an Independent Advisor. I am here to work with you on this problem.

    1. Invoke Task Manager from CTRL+SHIFT+ESC > Under Start up see if Excel is listed. If yes, right click on it and Disable
    2. Windows Key+R > Copy and paste following into Run and Enter

    shell:startup

    This will openup Startup folder

See if you have Excel in it

If yes, Delete shortcut from here

    1. Use Autoruns to find out where this gets hidden

    Autoruns for Windows - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/d...

Do let me know if you require any further help on this. Will be glad to help you.
