Onenote 2016 keeps crashing

I have been using Onenote for quite a while now, but after a recent Windows update, it has stopped working properly. It keeps crashing a few seconds after I start writing with my pen. I have tried restarting my computer, installing windows updates, uninstalling and reinstalling the whole Office suite, and many other troubleshooting options that have been recommended on this site but nothing works. Is there anyone who can effectively help with this? I need Onenote for my college courses and I find it an incredibly useful tool, but I can't fix it any way I try.

    Hi Yoel,

I am sorry to hear that you are facing this issue. I am Anna, an independent advisor trying to help.

    Please try this:

    Exit OneNote

In Explorer, open the folder c:\users[your username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneNote Note: Most likely you will need to turn on view hidden files because AppData is a hidden folder.

Rename the folder "15.0" to "15.0.backup" or something like this

Restart OneNote. When OneNote starts you will only see placeholders for your folders. Don't worry, just give it some time and let OneNote build the cache and then you should see everything.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards.
