I noticed someone else has also posted in regards to having the same issue as myself. I have Office 365, student version through the college I attend. All of a sudden, I lost the right to edit any document using Microsoft. I have tried multiple times to reactivate the account but it doesn't work. I tried uninstalling Office from my computer and reinstalling and that didn't work. I have also updated my computer as well, still nothing. I don't know what else to do, but I am slightly stressed as there are 2 weeks left of school for me and I have a boat load of assignments to complete.

Thanks,

Marissa

Hi Marissa,

We could understand the frustration when encountering the issue, we'd like to help you do troubleshooting.

According to your description, it seems you have activation issue in Office for Mac.

You may try using the license removal tool to remove the license from your Mac, open Word, sign in your account and password to reactivate Office and check the outcome.

Important: Before using the tool, make sure you have the correct account info and password associated with your  Office when you reactivate.

Here is an article for your reference: How to remove Office license files on a Mac

In the meanwhile, you may use Office online as a temporarily workaround. Sign in Office 365 home page with your Office 365 account, click Word in the App Launcher.

If you still cannot activate Office applications on Mac, we appreciate if you share with us following information for troubleshooting:

1.Do you get any error message when you activate Office? Please share screenshots about issue's symptom.

2.Do you install Office from Office 365 portal>click Install Office>Office 365 apps?

3.Your Mac version. (check it by click Apple menu>About This Mac)

Best Regards,

Tina
